Description

Cascadia Junior is the perfect introduction to pattern-building and tile-placement games for those little people starting out in the board game world, and it will prepare them for the basic concepts used in Cascadia. There are many similarities to its parent game, and it starts with learning how to choose tiles that match in two ways—animal species and environments. There are five animal species in this version, and the goal is to place tiles so three of the same animals touch each other. This earns matching wildlife markers and a wildlife sighting token. While grouping species together, the second goal is to try matching at least three contiguous habitats to earn sighting tokens too. The game ends when all but one environment tile has been chosen. Players flip over all earned sighting tokens to reveal either one or two acorns on each. All acorns are added and the player with the highest total wins the game!  For 2-4 players with a 15-to-30-minute game play time. There is an advanced mode included which adds goal challenges for each animal type. ~Marsha
