Whether you're a creative homeschool mom that likes to go the extra mile to bring fun learning experiences to your children, or a preschool or kindergarten teacher looking for multisensory class ideas, you'll want this book. Utilizing the Jolly Phonics letters/sounds groupings, there are four pages of ideas for each sound (usually about 21 different activities/ideas). These include suggested collections of sound association words, tongue twisters, interesting word connections, baking recipes, activities, role play ideas, something to draw, and activities/crafts to do. There is even a list of book reading suggestions (yep, you guessed it – they each have a link to the sound). With so many choices, there is bound to be something that will catch your eye and your child's imagination and make learning more effective.
Publisher's Description of Jolly Phonics Bumper Book of Phonics Fun
The Bumper Book of Phonics Fun is a bumper resource packed full of ideas and activities designed to support the teaching of letter sounds in a fun, multisensory way. Never run out of teaching ideas for your pre-schoolers again with this book by your side. Children can learn their letter sounds whilst investigating and enjoying the world around them.
The Bumper Books of Phonics Fun contains two double-page spreads for each of the 42 letter sounds. Each double-page spread has a plethora of activity ideas – including books to read, things to make, songs to listen to and recipes for cake – as well as word lists and all of the lyrics to the Jolly Songs, alongside their actions.
Jolly Phonics for ages 3 and up uses memorable
characters, engaging stories, and catchy songs paired with fun actions to
introduce the 42 letter sounds. The colorful books, songs, and physical actions
help children engage in all learning paths. Sounds are taught first (before
letter names) and in a specific order that allows children to start reading as
soon as possible. You can use this program as a precursor to the Jolly Phonics
K4 or K5 program or another phonics program. Children ages 3 and up will
utilize the Bumper Book, Jolly Stories Board Book Activity Books, DVD, Letter
Sound Poster, and Songs Book & CD. There is no teacher’s book at this level.
These multisensory materials provide a fun way to give children a jumpstart to
reading!
