This book is detailed and packed with scientific
information! Some may find the story a bit “dark”, as a girl falls through a
trapdoor and is held captive by a mad scientist who looks like Frankenstein. She
asks questions to keep him from removing her head and in the process readers
learn a ton. When explaining how brains were treated by ancient cultures, some
graphics show saws, sharp tools, and/or blood. The diagrams and information are
in-depth, explaining the anatomy of the brain and how it works to process
information within our bodies. I wish they had done it in a less “scary” way to
appeal to a broader audience. Please note that this series of books DOES
contain evolutionary content.
