The Teacher's Activity Kit for Volume 1 includes five reproducible activities for each of the six units in Volume 1 of the Student Books. The wide variety of activities includes Music Crossword Puzzles, Note Naming, Matching Games, Musical Math, Word Scrambles, and others for a total of 30 Activities in all. There is also one Test per Unit that covers all the theory concepts introduced in that Unit. Each reproducible page includes scoring boxes to help the instructor grade the page.

Alfred's Essentials of Music Theory program was created to enhance students’ understanding of musical language. It is for all age levels, for anyone who wants to learn the essentials of reading and writing music.
The Complete Lesson Book is made up of three 6-unit books, for a total of 18 units and 75 lessons. Starting with the staff, notes, and pitches, this series teaches the concepts of note values, time signatures, harmony, rests, dynamics, tempo, sharps, flats, naturals, music terminology, sharp and flat scales, key signatures, intervals, triads, chords, modes, tones, and much, much more. Lessons are usually one page in length and contain both instruction and exercises. Each unit closes with ear training activities and a review with exercises. The Ear Training CDs are packaged with either the Lesson Book or the Teacher Answer Key. The Teacher’s Answer Key is easy to use, as it contains the exact text of the Lesson Book with answers shaded in gray.
Several supplemental items are available to complement the lesson book. Bingo and Flashcards help you learn and review notes and rhythms. A Teacher’s Activity Kit has 30 reproducible practice pages and six tests, with answers in the back.
