Publisher's Description of COBI Yakovlev Yak-1b Fighter - 142 pieces (World War II Historical Collection)
The Yak-1b was donated by Wolf Messing to the pilots of the 1st Fighter Aviation Regiment "Warszawa" and was the most famous aircraft of the Polish People's Army during World War II. The Yak-1 belongs to the family of aircraft created in the Yakovlev design bureau. Planes of this type have been serving in Polish aviation since 1943. The plane gained a reputation as a solid and easy-to-maintain machine. It was respected by both pilots and ground crew, alike. Interestingly, it was one of the smallest and lightest fighters of World War II. A very good power-to-weight ratio gave the plane excellent performance, making it a formidable opponent.
Using 142 COBI construction blocks you can build the historic fighter plane that served in the Polish People's Army. The block model features high-quality prints that increase the photo-realism. Particularly noteworthy is the brick with the foundation inscription of Wolf Messing, who donated the plane to Polish pilots. The plane measures 18.5cm in length and 22cm in wingspan and is a perfect addition to our growing Historical Collection! YAK-1b is also an easy-to-build model, perfect for a start to your adventure with COBI construction blocks. This is an aircraft that enthusiasts of aviation, military technology and history should pay special attention to. Build history, brick by brick, with COBI!
The COBI World War IIHistorical Series sets feature tanks, aircraft, ships, and other vehicles of both sides of combat. Each set includes one or more characters which match the theme and ranking of the vehicle. Depending on the model, individual sets each feature various moving components such as gun barrels, turrets, tracks, wings, propellers, engine compartments, and more.
