Piece together your own PT-109 Patrol Torpedo Boat with this 3,726-piece COBI building block set! Part of COBI’s Historical Collection, this set contains the blocks needed to construct the famous patrol boat commanded by future president John F. Kennedy.
Patrol Torpedo Boat PT-109 was operating under Kennedy’s command in the Pacific Ocean in 1942 when it was rammed by the Amagiri, a Japanese destroyer. Kennedy managed to save the lives of his entire crew during the incident, an action that would help secure him the presidency in the 1960 election. The boat itself was operated by a crew of 13 and featured a 20mm anti-aircraft gun, 37mm anti-tank gun, and two heavy machine guns. It was also capable of firing 53cm torpedoes and drop depth charges.
This 1:35 scale model features movable equipment as well as a removable deck that reveals the boat’s interior components. It also comes with a display stand and 4 minifigures, including John F. Kennedy. Perfect for naval and military enthusiasts ages 12+, this set brings the PT-109 to life in incredible detail! Dimensions are 28.3” long, 7.9” wide, and 10.2” high. ~Alex
