Piece together your own B-24D Liberator with this 1,445-piece COBI building block set! Part of COBI’s World War II Historical Collection, this set contains all the blocks needed to construct the American heavy bomber.

The B-24 Liberator is an American heavy bomber that was one of the most important Allied aircraft to see combat in WWII. It served in every branch of the armed forces and was used in strategic bombing operations in both Western Europe and the Pacific. Despite being notoriously difficult to fly, the B-24 had both impressive range and the ability to carry a heavy bomb load, making it effective at conducting long-distance bombing campaigns. In fact, it was the world’s most produced bomber, a record that it still holds to this day. The B-24 was manned by a crew of 11, traveled at a top speed of 297 mph, and had a 1,540-mile range. It was armed with ten 12.7mm M2 Browning machine guns and could carry between 2,700 and 8,000 pounds of bombs depending on the distance of the mission.

This 1:48 scale model features movable wing flaps and bomb hatches, propellers that rotate, and wheels that function when the plane is rolled. Two pilot minifigures are also included. Perfect for aviation and military enthusiasts ages 11+, this set brings the B-24D Liberator to life in incredible detail! Dimensions are 17.7” long, 5.1” high, and 27” wide. ~Alex

Its task was to bomb remote cities, factories, bases and other enemy targets. With the entry of the US into World War II, production of the aircraft increased.
