Lessons also contain fill-in-the-blank activities that turn into creating your own sentences. Action and linking verbs are explained and a section teaches about how adjectives and adverbs make sentences more detailed and interesting.

The second part of the workbook covers paragraphs. What they are, the three parts that make up a paragraph, and how to expand on them. Activities for making a topic sentence, supporting details, and closing sentences help students learn how to properly construct a paragraph. Writing prompts are provided to help get students started on writing paragraphs. The workbook ends with explaining the different kinds of paragraphs you can write with prompts to guide the process.
