Description
In this cooperative adventure and strategy game, players take the roles of a young girl’s stuffed animals who are watching over and defending their little girl from minions who hide under her bed. The storybook is the heart of Stuffed Fables as its pages weave seven different stories rich with drama, discoveries, danger and daring. During the story, players share resources and interact with each other as they play through each scenario which culminates with awards for defeating the minions using abstract reasoning and planning skills.
The left side of each storybook page serves as a gameboard where the stuffed characters are placed to act out the unfolding tales. The right side of each page contains storyline, setup and special rules for each specific game scenario as well as those in the general rulebook. A nice addition to the special rules is QR codes that have links to videos to help clarify and illustrate the rules that are key to each story. The book’s sectional arrangement of stories is conducive to varied game times with the average being 60-90 minutes.
Although this 2-4 player game has a starting age of 8, it is recommended that an older child or adult play with those who are just starting out with these types of games as some of the needed abilities to fully experience the varied skills required may not yet be available to the younger age players.
