Description

Self-directed language course for the independent student, this book takes a different approach to language instruction. Lessons are quite short and there is little writing involved. You are taught German in bite-sized pieces. This is a good option for a middle-schooler trying out a language or getting prepared for a high school course. The content is not enough for a high school language credit. Use the free video downloads to listen to native speakers pronounce the words. Practice frequently to develop your accent. 145 lessons can be completed over a school year or a semester. A one-page pronunciation guide in the back of the book is handy for quick reference. Written exercises involve translating up to 10 sentences using what you have learned. If you have felt intimidated by languages in the past, this series might be just the thing to get you over that! ~Sara
