Great resource
I like the cursive style and the book is easy to follow with good visuals to help remember the lessons.1-2 pages a day is enough to practice without feeling overwhelmed (especially for my reluctant writer).

Great cursive reinforcement!
My daughter was driven and determined to learn to write in cursive. After finishing the HWT Cursive Handwriting book within the first few months of our academic year, I bought this for reinforcement of what she has learned. She feels very comfortable writing in cursive now.

I've used HWT for all 4 of my children all the way through. We especially enjoy the cursive book! It is interesting and produces nice "cursive" writing. Reading cursive is just as important as writing it. Because of this book, my kids can often read the traditional beautiful cursive writing their Grandmothers use!

My daughter was terrified with learning cursive as she had some fine-motor delays with her epilepsy. But these books are wonderful and so easy to learn. This book is the second of three books on learning and mastering cursive. It was written by an Occupational Therapist whose son had fine-motor issues as well as being left-handed. My daughter is also a lefty. The books are used with left and right-handed guides on the page, plus websites for additional practice sheets.

My daughter really liked these books did well for my daughter...then I switched to A Reason for Handwriting to include more Bible based learning...but the 3 line system made her handwriting get super sloppy! The 2 line system looks much cluttered to her and it makes it appear much "easier"...so we are going back to what worked!

Is it necessary to purchase the teacher's guide?
A shopper on Feb 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No... I don't think so. There are a couple of pages that don't make sense without it but I would just make something up for the kids to write or make them copy their spelling words in the blanks.
What's the difference between Cursive Handwriting and Cursive Success?

BEST ANSWER: The cursive handwriting book is considered 3rd grade or the first book of cursive. It introduces cursive slowly. Where the cursive success book is considered 4th grade or the second book of cursive. It re-introduces cursive letters and moves a little more quickly through the letters and has more words and sentences than the cursive handwriting book.
Has anyone used the Can-Do Cursive book? My son did the 3rd grade cursive book last year and I was looking to do the orange book as a follow-up versus Cursive Success (the 4th grade book).

BEST ANSWER: My son is currently working in the Can-Do Cursive book. He likes it a lot. Does about 2 pages a week so we can space it out for the entire school year. He is able to work through the pages himself, and let me know when he gets them done. He asks when he has questions, but usually it isn't about the cursive itself, but about the content. Hope this helps!
