Description
Publisher's Description of Key to Algebra Book 9: Systems of Equations

In Key to Algebra new algebra concepts are explained in simple language, and examples are easy to follow. Word problems relate algebra to familiar situations, helping students understand abstract concepts. Students develop understanding by solving equations and inequalities intuitively before formal solutions are introduced.

Category Description for Key To Math (Gr. 4-12)

The Key To Math series is a very self-instructional, unintimidating math supplement. Covering seven basic topics: Fractions, Decimals, Percents, Measurement, Metric Measurement, Algebra, and Geometry (in that order), they are ideal for "homework" or a more topical approach to the subject. The presentation is done in a simple, friendly manner, incrementally, and with examples to follow as needed. You can look at the table of contents for each workbook and see what exact skills are included.

Student Workbooks (booklets really) are thin and consumable. Answers are not in the student books. Answer Keys are sold separately and are recommended. In Key to Algebra and Key to Geometry, one answer key covers several workbooks – be sure to get the right one! Order by the book or in sets. Separate Reproducible Tests (with answers) are available for Fractions, Decimals, Percents, and Algebra only.

  • Fractions – 4 workbooks, 1 answer key
  • Decimals – 4 workbooks, 1 answer key
  • Percents – 3 workbooks, 1 answer key
  • Measurement – 4 workbooks, 1 answer key
  • Metric Measurement – 4 workbooks, NO ANSWER KEY
  • Algebra – 10 workbooks, 3 answer keys
  • Geometry – 8 workbooks, 4 answer keys

This series encourages children to tackle these subject areas in as much depth as they can, rather than working strictly within the confines of an age-graded math program. Technically speaking, this is not considered a “math curriculum”. The Key To Series allows you to focus extra instruction and practice precisely where it is needed. It can help a student get past a roadblock in their math program.  ~Sara

Category Description for Key To Algebra (Gr. 5-12)

The series covers operations on integers, variables/terms/expressions, equations, polynomials, rational numbers, multiplying/dividing rational expressions, adding/subtracting rational expressions, graphs, systems of equations, and square roots/quadratic equations. The level includes 10 workbooks, 3 answer keys (for books 1-4, 5-7, and 8-10), and a separate reproducible Tests booklet covering all 10 volumes. ~Sara
