A Bible in story form for your youngest children that is true to the Bible in substance, but simplifies or leaves out details beyond the young child’s comprehension or concern. Before your child is able to read for himself, you can familiarize him with the Bible, in context, with The Child’s Story Bible. You may also want to “build” felt pictures of the stories together using the Betty Lukens/Little Foks Bible Felt Set (see Felts section).

This is our favorite story Bible. It is ideal as a read aloud for ages 2 and up as well as for older children to read alone before they can read the Bible by themselves. It familiarizes children with detailed, accurate Bible stories. After using this book over and over for years with our older children, we've seen the benefit in their clear understanding of the flow of the Bible and where various stories fit. Though many story Bibles can tend to water down or even misrepresent Scripture, this one does not. Highly recommended!
