Harmonies Game
- Includes solo and expert game levels
- For 1 to 4 players
- Approximately 30 minutes of playing time
Whimsical cartoon bats, alligators, koalas, and many
other creatures frolic in the rivers, fields, trees, and mountains throughout
all seasons of the year to land in just the right habitat to suit them. Can you build arrangements of colorful cubes
in the formations to meet the animal’s requirements to score the most points
and win the game? Win or lose, this deceptively simple but strategic game will
warm your heart and be so much fun either solo or with your group that you will
be pulled back for many repeat plays.
In this card-activation, token-laying game for 1-4
players, compete to draw habitat tiles and claim animal cards that will best lay
the groundwork for victory. There are
two ways to score points. 1) Place
habitat tiles in specific configurations on your personal game board to score
the most points. 2) Meet animal card goals to gain additional points.
Habitat Tiles:
On each turn, take a group of three terrain tokens from the central display. Tile tokens score as follows:
Yellow fields score points if you connect them in pairs around your board.
Green forest tokens furnish one point by default. If you can place them atop one wood token, they are worth three, and on two wood tokens, they are worth seven.
Grey mountains score the same as forest tokens, but they need to connect to at least one other mountain.
Pink buildings are placed atop another brown, grey, or pink token and at least three other types of tokens must surround them to score 5 points.
There are two sides to the
player boards. On side A, blue river
tokens score two points for each token in your longest chain. On side B, create islands with blue
tokens. Each separate island scores 5
points.
Animal cards:
These animals are so cute and funny! Each of them is looking for just the right
environment to live in. The owl wants to
live in a tall tree in the middle of two small trees. The birds want to live on a tall mountain
next to an open field. When a player
obtains the tiles to build structures that enable them to create these
environments, they can claim the animal cards that best align with the
structures they are able to build. When
an animal card is obtained by a player, there are spots to place cubes on that
card that reward points each time the structure is built. Every time you complete a pattern, remove a
cube from the card and put it down on your board for victory points at game end.
Once one player has less than three open spaces on their player board, the round continues until all players have had a final turn. Points for structures and animal cards are totaled and the player with the most points wins! Although there are so many great tile-laying games already available, I was really impressed with how unique and fun Harmonies is and my friends and family are enjoying playing it with me too! Harmonies gameplay takes about 30 minutes and has advanced and solo mode instructions included. ----------Marsha
