Description

I found this list to be a curious mix of historical figures. The idea is to encourage kids to think about right and wrong and ask questions such as, “How could people have gone along with this?” The list is in order of birthdates. As always, The Tuttle Twins books are from a politically conservative viewpoint. This would be a fun addition to a study of world history, world leaders, or government. ~Sara

Publisher's Description of Tuttle Twins Guide to: Modern Villains

What is it about human nature that leads some people to commit unspeakably evil acts?

And, perhaps a more important question for each of us, why do so many people submit to or even support these villains?

World history sadly offers us a long list of dictators and totalitarian thugs who used their power to steal from and oppress their countrymen—and kill those who defied them.

As tragic as these stories all are, they can still offer us lessons to learn from if we try to understand why these people acted the way they did—both those in control and those who were controlled.

Category Description for Tuttle Twins Guides

This is a unique series for pre-teens and teenagers. It tackles heavy topics in story form following the Tuttle Twins, who are now older than in their children's books. The viewpoint is conservative, libertarian, and patriotic. The books focus on the principles of a free society: free markets, competition, personal responsibility, protectionism and more. Information is presented in a way that students can understand. Much is presented in Q and A dialogue. Black and white illustrations are eye-catching and not overdone to look like a comic book. Examples are relatable to young people. While the stories often reflect Christian principles, they do not use scripture so we tag them as being neutral.
