Excellent resource
This is a great curriculum for math. Enough review balances with new information, which gives your student practice to really master concepts over the years.

Great Resource!
We've been using the Student Workbook for a month now and love it. I appreciate how we can go through the first side together and then later in the day he's familiar with the second time. This builds his confidence and shows him how much fun math can be!

So far so good!
Just started using Saxon this school year for my 1st grader. So far we really like it, it does seem to be a little below his level but he is loving it as math is his favorite subject and he is able to get them done super fast. I think further throughout the book he will see more of a challenge but so far we really like Saxon, that's what I used all through public school so it's very familiar for me!

Saxon Math 1
I bought Saxon Math 1 for my son who has learning difficulties. I love how this curriculum is an incremental approach, meaning you move st s very slow and steady pace and build on skills as you go. Each lesson has the same format, beginning with the meeting, hands on practice then the workbook. We have some small children might get bored with the repetition, my son has thrived. And because it moves at such a slow, steady pace, he is not overwhelmed and feels very successful.

Love it
My daughter was having a very hard time with math and hated doing any math. Saxon math has turned it completely around. The instructions are simple to follow and my daughter loves doing math. Saxon math is very interactive, not just worksheets. We won't be using anything else but Saxon

Saxon Math 1 Workbook Set with Fact Cards
Very easy to use math curriculum. Easy to follow teachers guide which tells you exactly what to say and what workbook pages/fact cards to use. My son loves this math program.
November 10, 2016
I did not buy the complete kit and that was a good thing because any person who is good at math can teach it using just the workbook for Saxon 1 It is thorough and there is a ton of practice involved in arithmetic and problem solving I know my dd will know her early math facts really really well Maybe too well because it does move slowly if your child finds math easy If not it's excellent As I stated before I'm really good at math and so is my dd so we will probably go with a program that moves a little faster next year but for a child who needs the practice and repetition it's great
January 30, 2008
The repetition of Saxon is what I love Homeschooling is very flexible therefore you do not have to stick to the lesson plan exactly I go through the lessons for the next day and write down what we will do Many times we may go through 5 lessons a day I usually skip the meeting completely or just do maybe the counting clock etc We don't have to always do the projects in the lessons either I usually just go over the new concept without them I don't have to wait for the next school year to start the next grade we go at our own pace

Well developed program that is cyclical in nature, constantly reviewing concepts already learned throughout the whole year. It does require more input from the parent/teacher, but is a much more thorough program. We have 6 children and have been using it for years. We are both engineers and feel it prepares them best for a STEM future.

Tara D on Jun 28, 2016
Saxon 1 is a natural progression for my rising Kindergartener. She's 5 but did Saxon K last year. We were able to double and sometimes triple up on lessons because she had been exposed to math lessons her older brother was doing. She's now ready and eager to have worksheets like big brother, and I feel that she is totally capable at 5 to do well with Saxon 1.

How many pages does this work book have?
Sharon N on Sep 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: There are 130 lessons in the workbooks. Each lesson usually has 2 pages, one math timed test page and one double sided lesson page. That makes it around 260 pages.
Does this come with all the master sheets?
A shopper on Aug 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the master sheets are part of the workbooks.
What is the difference between new Saxon elementary grade materials and older Saxon materials for the same grades?
A shopper on Apr 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have used Saxon math for my children and now am using Saxon math to teach my grandchildren and the concept is the same. They are doing math the way I remember it possibly more updated verbiage in story problems. I think it is the best out there. My kids all did well in math and liked it
