We liked Chemistry Level 1. The kids are older now and we have come back for more at a higher level.

wanted a secular science curriculum that was visually appealing to my child and covered all areas of science in a year.

Is this curriculum a year long curriculum or a semester?
A shopper on Oct 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It's a semester and doesn't go into to depth in any area
Are there math requirements for this curriculum? Thank you!
A shopper on Jun 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The math required is basic algebra and graphing skills, and the book teaches it. The problems are basic high school chemistry: stoichiometry (which is basically balancing simple equations), calculation of molarity (solving for x in a fraction equation), and graphing curves (just plotting data points). It may sound complicated, but for chemistry the math is very straightforward and basic. And I'd say math is only involved in about 10 to 15% of what they do for study questions. I looked this curriculum a lot. I'd say it covers about what would be covered in the first semester of a full general chem class at either the high school or college levels. (I've taught chemistry from 8-yr-olds to college age.)
