Highly Recommend Daily Reading Practice
We have four teen-aged daughters who need extra help in reading comprehension. They are Filipino and have been in the U.S. for just a few years, so are still learning English. They love to read, but we needed a method to slow them down and get them to really focus on the content. I give them only one day's work at a time (otherwise they might work ahead) and we usually do it together, as we are just on week four. They are good about referring to their notes (included with the materials). The girls like that it usually takes less than 15 minutes to complete the daily work, and I like that they are learning the benefits of reviewing the same topic for a whole week. There is no planning needed and checking work is also very simple, and quick. So far, this has been a very good investment.

This is a simple guide, containing daily notes for easy teaching. Answer Key is a "write-over" making it easy to find solutions for your students.

Need to help our second language learner adopted children develop better reading skills. Especially like that one selection is used for a full week so that they will really have to focus on that particular reading to complete all of the skill areas.

How necessary is the teacher guide?

BEST ANSWER: The teacher guide is nice because you can follow along as your child reads aloud (if that is the method you would do) without looking right over their shoulder. Sometimes it is nice to have the answers there for you. Many of the answers will vary and they just have suggestions.
