It’s a good kit
This is a good kit, but you need to purchase a board for the tiles. We decided to go with the Letter Tiles app instead, as it is easier to use for my kids.

Used with All About Reading/Spelling
This is required to use with AAR and AAS in completing practice and lessons. The price is reasonable and the quality is good.

I love this program! The interactive kit took me just a few minutes to put together. It did not come with the box for the cards, but an index box card worked just fine for me. This whole program has been an incredibly enjoyable experience for me and my son! I highly recommend it!

waste of money
way too easy for my 7 yr old, half the book is a complete waste, the other half could be done in a few days, complete waste of time andmoney. Don't listen to their recommendations to get the first book, even if your kid can somewhat read, this book is way too easy, and they make you buy an extra kit with magnets for an extra $40 on topof this, a total cash grab.

Works great
The letter tiles are about 1 in by 1 in and work great. They hold well and are easy to move.

Everything you need for AAS and AAR
The only thing I missed was the box, but if you have an index card box, you could use this easily instead of the deluxe interactive kit.

I love the idea of letters and sounds as manipulatives. Gives the child something to do with their hands while they practice reading!

Because it's not included in the AAR KIT, which should not be called a set or kit because it does not include everything needed to teach All About Reading which is frustrating!

I live overseas, where they don't sell generic 3x5 card boxes. This seems like a great way to organize our many cards, which we will be continually referencing as we study spelling.

I already have the letter tiles through All About Spelling. Do I still need to purchase this?
A shopper on Apr 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No, I think, once you purchase the tiles, that is it for the AAR and AAS.
Does all about spelling level 1 coincide with all about reading level 1. Also, do I need the basic interactive kit if I purchased the all about spelling level 1?

BEST ANSWER: AAS Level 1 should actually be started with AAR Level 2, after you have finished AAR Level 1. If you already have the letter tiles from AAS, then you don't necessarily need to buy an interactive kit. The divider cards are different between AAS and AAR, but you can actually buy those separately on the All About Learning Press website. Hope that helps!
Is the basic interactive kit universal for all levels, or is there a separate basic interactive kit for each level?
A shopper on Jul 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This is the basic kit for both AAR and AAS, and is used for all levels. You only need the 1 kit, no matter how many kids you have. When you order higher levels of the books, they will come with a few additional tiles that are needed. You won't purchase any more.
How big are the letter tiles for the all about reading level 1?
A shopper on Dec 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Most are about 1in X 1in. It's a great program. It's our second year using AAR and we are hooked! It has a fun and easy approach to learning that has been great for both my kids.
