Good Choice
I finally decided to take the plunge into RightStart and we couldn't be more pleased. I had been impressed with the research behind the RightStart curriculum for a number of years but shied away from it because of the price and more importantly the fear of not having the time it would take to implement the program. So far I have found the time commitment to be no more than we have experienced with other major publishers and have found it to be fun, easy to follow, and engaging. The price is a substantial consideration, but for our family I am confident we have finally invested in the right fit.

Great program!
I have used many math programs over the years. This is the one program that truly gives a solid foundation and helps retain math facts without millions of worksheets.

Love it!
Right Start Math sounded intimidating to me at first, but my kid is learning and I'm loving it. It is easy to follow and have a good set of manipulative and materials. We are still on lesson 20, but I can tell we are going to use every bit of it.

I needed a structured (scripted for me!) program for young busy boys (ages 4 and newly 6). We have used some of RS B (purchased with the entire 'kit' of manipulatives) but wanted more background and this will be a good start for the up and coming students too, when it's their time. RS was highly recommended by veteran homeschoolers who had hopped about different math programs and eventually landed with RS. I think it will be a good fit for us!

I felt even though my son will be 1st grade next year. we have never done a program quite like this. So i wanted a gentle introduction to the program and plan to complete A over the summer and move into B for the start of the school year. Then I know he will have covered everything!

We are using level B with our first grader and are ready to get little sister on board with Right Start. Great math program - scripted, fun, challenging, great interaction between student and parent.

Right Start Math has been recommended to me by others as a good math program for very right brained, creative learners (which my son happens to be)! I already have a lot of the materials, I just needed to books.

my grandson will be 7 in Dec, and is 1st grade, home schooled. should I start with part A or B?
A shopper on Sep 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There is a placement test on the RightStart website. Typically, Level A is used for kindergarten, B for 1st grade, and so on.

That being said, a child with no background in "conceptual" math--which means truly understanding math concepts, not just knowing procedures--may benefit from starting at an earlier Level. My son was in 3rd grade when we began homeschooling, so we started with Level B. But his previous school had not taught math conceptually, so he didn't understand how think about numbers in a real-world setting. By doing math five days a week (RightStart is designed to be used only four days a week), as well as through the summer one year, he got through Levels B, C, and D in two years and is now a 5th-grader in Level E, which is where your grandson would be if he started Level A this year.
for the RS curriculum do I need a set of manipulative for each child?
User on Jun 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Usually, no. However, if both children are doing the same lesson at the same time, you might find it best to have two of some manipulatives, such as the clock, ruler, calculator, or later on, the geometry drawing tools. The colored tiles, blocks, 3-D shapes, etc., are examples where one set works for multiple children. Hope that helps!
