High School Health Elective
My 11th grade Daughter likes it so far. She can just jump in without having to wait for me. She will probably move at a faster pace and finish a bit early.

I like the idea of an independent health study for my high schooler.

My home school student finished his biology work early for this year and he was interested in a health curriculum. I have always done well with LIFEPACS and this is a simple way for my student to be self-driven in this subject.

I've used Lifpacs before and they are easy for me the teacher to keep up with. They have lots of info, but can be tedious and boring for the student.

Chrisitan based health, and good price.

I was looking for an inexpensive, Christian health curriculum and this set met my needs.
Krista W on Aug 24, 2017
The curriculum looks very comprehensive and wanted something from the perspective of the Christian faith.

So far, these modules have been perfect for a summer self-study. The workbooks have bright drawings and photos as well as straightforward activities and material review exercises. My two high school students (girl, going into grade 9, and boy, going into grade 10) are utilizing this curriculum to avoid the public high school health requirement in the state of Washington.

I am the Fossil Ridge Public Library Homeschool Librarian. I have a junior high health course on my homeschool shelf, but not High School. I also only have one Life Pac product on my shelf too, so this was a no brainer

I chose this because my daughter needed one semester of health. I read through the table of contents and its very thorough and looks to be very sound curriculum. It contains everything we need to easily get the education and 1/2 credit we need to complete her health and fitness program.

If I have more than one student do I need a set for each child?
A shopper on May 21, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes. The books are a combination of text and workbook that are to be filled out. I took my two teens through it to replace the mandatory school district health class and it was more than adequate for a comprehensive health class. Submitted work summary to the school registrar for pass/fail credit satisfaction. Some districts require pre-approval; I just basically rewrote the table of contents. Hope all that helps!
What do you get with this "boxed set"? A text book? Teacher's manual? Worksheets/tests?
User on Apr 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You get 5 life pacs and a teacher's guide. The lifepacs are self-contained units that students can read, study and work through the imbedded questions. There are small "quizzes" throughout to check for retention and each unit has a larger test to complete at the end. The teacher' guide will guide you through the material and contains all the answers for questions, quizzes and tests. This is a great way for a high school student to achieve their high school health credit. It can be self-guided for an independent student. Personally, I added two student-selected "healthy choices for life" books as extra reading and had them do a project/presentation to round out the course for our family. This is not necessary, I just always err on the side of preparation for college level classes (in terms of writing/research).
Is this a secular curriculum?
A shopper on Feb 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, the Lifepac curriculum is from a Christian publisher.
Is this a secular curriculum?
A shopper on Feb 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It is unabashedly Christian. Some of the questions have the student read Bible passages and then respond. Biblical references are interspersed throughout the passages.
