Even though my daughter is in 11th grade and still completing Algebra 1 I really wanted her to study chemistry--even knowing that it can be math heavy When I heard about this program I knew it was what we needed It is expensive but it is wonderful! My daughter is learning basic chemistry principles and enjoying it I love Paradigm Accelerated Curriculum products because they really walk a student through concepts and topics thoroughly---without the student feeling like they are being talked down to or using a curriculum for 'struggling students' There is basically ZERO teacher prep necessary as this is a self-teaching curriculum I just grade the work daily and discuss how to find the correct answers I highly recommend this product for any student---but most especially for those struggling with math but who still want to study chemistry!

For my grade 10 artist/author daughter.

I needed something of slightly more interest to my high schooler. It's her first year being homeschooled so we are trying to find something that motivates her and is engaging.

This curriculum was well reviewed by Cathy Duffy for struggling learners and those with more difficulty in math in some chemistry and physics courses. I also currently use the World History Paradigm Accelerated Curriculum course for my 9th grader and he is doing very well with that curriculum.

We need to get through chem and physics in one year in order to start the Early College Program at the local community college.

Easy to use course, cheaper on this site.

"I have used Paradigm Accelerated Curriculum in the past and have been very pleased with the thoroughness and organization of the material, especially for a self-directed student."

In looking for a high school science curriculum, I needed to find a course that would be compatible with a struggling math student who enjoys history and stories much more than blunt scientific information. This course seemed to be a near perfect match.

This is the 3rd year we have used the Integrated programs. My son is a struggling learner and has really enjoyed this program. I like the fact that it doesn't require time to prep. The price is great and we don't have to spend a ton of extra on experiments that the kids never do. I would recommend this for those who want a science program where the kids have no plans on expanding their science experience in college.

While a bit pricey, this does look like a good course for both my high school son and daughter. I like that it is not so heavy on the math and it seems to be well written and interesting.

Is there a Teacher's Guide included with the Integrated Physics and Chemistry Full Course Kit?
A shopper on Jan 31, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, included in the full set (when I purchased it) was a Teacher's resource kit with quizzes, chapter tests, and answer keys to everything.
Can this be used in one year, or does it need to be covered over two years?
User on Jan 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: My daughter did this course in one year. She was in charge of her own schedule and checked her own work. I just graded her quizzes. This was one of her self directed courses and she liked it. I had her do some experiments and bought a kit for her to build a motor to supplement it. If you want something that your student can complete independently I highly recommend this course. We also completed world history and liked it too.
Is this linked to Next Gen. Science standards?
A shopper on Aug 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, this course is not linked to the Next Gen standards. It was published in 2005 - some years before the Next Gen standards were established.
Does this inlude the labs or do they need to be purchases seperatly?
A shopper on Jun 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This course is strictly readings with activity books which review the readings. I suggest combining this curriculum with the DVD curricula Chemistry 101 and Physics 101. For labs, purchase a kit that is a self-contained curriculum and have your student write summaries of each lab activity.

I purchased this for my high school student who does not enjoy science but needed an additional high school science credit. We concluded that this product is fine, but not adequate for a student who loves science.
