I have found Horizons math to be thorough and enjoyable Lessons are colorful and include several different exercises for example a single lesson may cover time money addition multiplication and word problems This keeps each function fresh in the student's mind The only problem I've found is that each set is about a year ahead of my child's level so in 4th grade she's using level 3 etc Also additional practice in multiplication has been necessary Overall it's the best program I've found thus far

My daughter has 4th grade math..

After having tried different math programs, we used Horizons Math 3 and loved it. Horizons is colorful and very visually appealing. There is a lot of variety to keep things interesting. I think it is a good blend of the extra thinking required of Singapore and the drills/extra practice you get with Saxon. I find it the happy medium.

I have used Horizons math for several year and never used the teacher's guide. Is this something new that the unit tests are in the teacher's guide and no longer in the student workbook? Particularly looking at Math 4. Thanks

BEST ANSWER: There is a change between Horizons Grade K - 3 and Horizons Grade 4 - 6 in this regard. Both the Unit Tests and the Test Keys are in the upper level Teacher's Manuals.
