Great curriculum for special needs students!!
We are loving the curriculum! I am using the LLATL red book with my son who has autism and it’s fabulous! We love learning through literature so this curriculum is perfect! There’s a great balance of challenging material and fun enrichment activities.
I feel my son is learning and having fun at the same time! That’s success to me!!

My son loves it.
The box is all inclusive with the exception of a few books that I can get easily at the library. I really like the open and go set up. It lists what you need at the beginning of the week and there is very little prep work on my part. My son has really loved this series and now my daughters are also asking for their appropriate grade levels too.

Some of my kids learn better through stories rather than traditional workbooks. This has really been a great way to learn literature and language arts all at the same time!

I'm a homeschool mom, who used to work as a Speech Language Pathologist. I selected LLATL for my children because I really liked the holistic, integrated approach to language learning in the natural context of text / stories. I feel this curriculum covers all the bases for a reasonable price.

I've used LLATL for my older children and have found it to be thorough yet enjoyable. It's such a help to have all of our LA curriculum in one place!

I used the blue box with my son last year and it was great for him, so we are sticking with it for another year.

The first program was good, and this one looks even better with the inclusion of more grammar and color readers.

I like that it incorporates the literature with learning mechanics and grammar. It is an all inclusive program.

We did the blue program and didn't love it but my homeschool mom friends assure me, it gets better and eventually with this program they can independently do the programs so we'll hope red is better than blue!

LLATL is a fantastic product. I used the Tan Book two years ago and the Green Book last school year. I have tried other language arts products and found LLATL to be superior. Though we have caught some errors in the books, they are very well conceived with excellent literary excerpts, writing exercises, and book studies. Tying English language usage to great literature has worked so well for my older kids, so I am excited to try it with my second grader as well.

I needed a Language Arts program for my struggling reader, and after looking around at several different things, I decided this would be the best fit. I like a textbook approach, and there are hands on things for my son to do. I wanted to start small and move up, as trying to teach grammar to someone who cannot read well could be difficult.

I picked this program because it interested me. I am a new homeschool mom. I hope that my 2nd grader will love this curriculum. I saw a youtube video from another homeschool mom that was using this program. It sparked my interest.

Would this be good for a child who is younger then 2nd grade but already knows how to read, all letters of alphabet and sounds as well as how to write them?
A shopper on Oct 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I think it would probably be fine. I would just check the books required and see if you feel they are developmentally appropriate for your child.
