Category Description for Unifix Cubes:

Unifix cubes have long been recognized as a manipulative of choice for teaching beginning math concepts. While not as versatile as multilinks (as Unifix Cubes snap together only on top and bottom), they are easier for small children to link together and take apart. Use them for counting, adding, subtracting and other math functions. There are a wide range of sets and materials available to choose from. We have selected what we believe to be the most useful, versatile, and inexpensive to fill your needs.

I needed these multiple colorful Unifix cubes to help teach my severely Autistic, nonverbal son at home. He requires colorful things to use as counters in math, and to keep his attention. I also plan to use some of these colorful cubes in sensory bins since he loves sensory bins.

Lots of other retailers are currently selling out due to the pandemic and distance learning/home schooling. I also liked that these are sets of 120 (instead of 100) and include pink and purple, since I have two girls.

I chose Unifix cubes instead of linking cubes for Saxon Math 1. Unifix cubes are easier to stack and unstack, they feel better in the hands, and students can quickly accomplish their tasks because they're not distracted by all the different ways the linking cubes can go together. Linking cubes can be fun for playing and building, but Unifix cubes are better math manipulatives, in my opinion.
