All three components of the Homeschool Kit come softbound. The Student Edition Text uses a two-color page layout, as opposed to the black and white pages of prior editions. Tests and Worksheets include a significant amount of fact drill practice, course tests, as well as various forms for recording student progress. Solutions Manual contains solutions to all problems in the text and tests.

Success with 3 older children in learning and reviewing Math concepts on their own with little instruction from me. With many responsibilities it has not only allowed me to give them some freedom with their school but it also helps them to develop a sense of independence in learning. Rainbow Resource has a far better price than most other sellers. This is a thorough math curriculum that my child could do independently if need be. Some days I have time to teach math, other days I will be grateful for Dive!

We've been using Saxon for over 23 years. I chose to get the 5/4 DVD to offer our 8 year old a variety in his math learning. We have used the upper level math DVD's with great success.

I have used Saxon in my homeschool for years. My older children were able to CLEP most college maths! Because of my sons strong math understanding from Saxon and Dive, my son received his masters at age 21. I will definitely use this math along with a Charlotte Mason approach with my younger children!

Are there required manipulatives for level 5/4?

BEST ANSWER: In this level there are no additional manipulatives you need to purchase. Cut-out manipulatives are included in curriculum. However, I found pretend money and clicks with movable hands to be very helpful.
Does this product include both Vimeo online access and the CDROM set?

BEST ANSWER: They are sold separately. We bought the CDROM, and it was great. The investigation sections are not on the CDROM, but that was okay because we preferred to go over those together.
Does the DIVE CD contain sectarian content?

BEST ANSWER: The only religious content I've come across is in the "Getting Started" video. The instructor introduces himself and his teaching philosophy as being Christian and challenges the students to work on their math with gratitude for the resources God has given them. I'm not sure what you mean by "sectarian," but I don't remember there being any denominational information given about the instructor. Beyond that, it's just math.

Works really well for my 4th grade daughter.
So far my daughter loves it. She likes the timed math worksheets and enjoys seeing her own improvements. We have not used the DIVE yet but plan on starting it soon to see how she likes that.

Highly recommend DIVE!
I love that my daughter feels like she's doing "big kid" math. We have always used Saxon and this different format with the DVD feels like there is less drudgery. My 9 year old is very happy with it and so am I!

Loved it, but plan for extra time when scheduling lesson plans for the year.
Sexon Math is very thorough. We bought the CDROM, which was a wonderful time saver for me, and showed the student exactly how to do problems step by step with life practical application.

Saxon math
My son uses Saxon 5/4 math with the dive cd. He is able to watch the lesson and then complete the work by himself. I love the way Saxon has review problems in the lessons so the information is reinforced and not forgotten.
