This package includes the following items:

Category Description for Secular Packages with Saxon Math (No Religious Content):

Our Secular Packages retain the neutral resources from our Starter Packages (such as All About Reading, Saxon Math, and Story of the World) while replacing others with the addition of neutral or secular materials.

  • Language Arts: First Language Lessons is added for grades 2-3, as well as Essentials in Writing/Literature at the upper levels. G.U.M. Drops, Spelling Workout, Ready Readers and Zaner-Bloser Handwriting are also included to round out language arts.
  • Social Studies: History is world focused in elementary, with Story of the World (Grades 1-4) and History Quest (Grades 5-6). Grades 7-8 add geography tools to the US History Detective series.
  • Science: Includes Science Odyssey or Exploring the Building Blocks of Science depending on grade level with Friendly Physical Science for 8th grade.

"I need your 7th grade curriculum package." How often we've heard similar pleas, but didn't have a package option to offer. Now we do! With the new homeschooler in mind, we wanted them to be easy to jump into and get started. They are! We also wanted them to be solid and strong in academics. They are! And we wanted them to utilize a variety of homeschooling products, so you would have a better idea of what works well for you and your students. They do! Can you tell we're just a bit excited about these packages? They include products we have used in our own schooling. They include products that have a proven track record in terms of success. They include products that are effective with a variety of learning styles.

We offer four series of packages for grades K - 8.

  • Starter Packages include some items with a Christian perspective.
  • Economy Starter Packages include budget curriculum choices some of which are items with a Christian perspective.
  • Secular Packages are similar to our Starter Packages but do NOT include any items with Christian perspective.
  • Standards-Based Packages include courses from mainline curriculum publishers that are aligned to state and national standards.

As you progress in your homeschool experience, you will get a better feel for the types of materials that work best for you and your students. But for now, our main goal in putting together these sets is to make it easy for you to get started. We want you to be able to Homeschool with Confidence! ~ Janice

This is my first year homeschooling my 1st grader. I wanted to find something that was easy for me to understand and for him to engage in. This had everything I needed to start us off and also has the required subjects my state requires. I will add content as I go to make it more my own. This looks like a great start for my child!

It had almost everything we were seeking. It included the Saxon Math which is something we wanted to try. We are first time and on a budget. The prices here were very good compared to other sights.

I really like that a secular grade package was offered. I have nothing against teaching religion but I don't really want religion to cross over into all the various subjects so I was happy to purchase this package! I also love "All About Reading" and was happy to see this was part of the package.

I am homeschooling and looking for an easier way to put together curriculum for my daughter. Getting a set seems easier than what I did for her in K which was to wing it with free online resources.

Is this a full school year or calendar year? About how long should it take to complete a full curriculum. Further are there assessments to determine whether the student is ready to move on?

BEST ANSWER: These courses provide the necessary components for an academic year in four main subject areas - language arts, math, science, and social studies. They are designed to be completed in the course of an academic year (usually 180 days; nine months). They can be started anytime, however.
There are assessments provided within the different courses.
Does this include a guide explaining what to teach each day?

BEST ANSWER: There is not a guide for the overall package but each product has its own pacing guide. The products are very user-friendly and in most instances, you complete one lesson per day.

Wonderful package
I absolutely love this package. My little boy was struggling in school and was behind. Struggling to read, writing backwards, couldn't read his sight words and the list goes on but now he actually is interested in learning and is learning very fast! He doesn't want to do just one lesson each day. He loves class. The smile on his face makes me so happy that I choose Rainbow Resource.
