This set which includes Pages of History 1 & 2 transports the reader through the timeline of the world-providing a view of God's work in every age. It's perfect for family story time or individual study.

From a mysterious safe in a dusty library comes the gateway to a journey through history. What James and Lance thought would be a boring school project is astonishingly transformed into an adventure that will forever change their lives.

In these exciting volumes James and Lance travel from Creation through to the present. Their adventures in history will captivate readers young and old. The history covered includes 160 major historic events--all of the events in the five series in the Veritas Press History--in the format of a compelling story.

The series is written with an unapologetic Christian worldview and provides an engaging approach to classical teaching.

Category Description for Pages of History:

James and Lance are middle school best friends on a field trip to the Library of Congress. While listening to a tour guide on headsets talk about historical documents, James stops short when the guide said it all began with the "Big Bang." He knew that God created the universe from nothing, but there was never anything about God in his history books. James was used to going to school with non-believers, including his friend Lance, and learning the truth at home from his parents. The boys venture away from their group and discover a mysterious hidden door... They find a gateway to a journey through history that will change their lives forever. In volume 1, they travel from Creation to the Reformation captivating readers along the way and covering 96 major events/people such as the Exodus from Egypt, Alexander the Great, the Magna Carta, and the Inquisition. In volume 2, James and Lance, the dove and the notebook are on a journey that finds them in jail for treason in 16th century England. Will they live to see the new world? Will James help Lance see God's hand throughout history? 64 major events are in this second book. These books are perfect for family time or individual study with their unapologetic Christian worldview and engaging approach to classical teaching. I was looking for a fun, engaging way to teach my middle child history. Since she has SPD, getting her to enjoy school can be difficult, but letting her step into history as an adventure appealed to both of us.

I homeschool 2 boys and they do not enjoy textbook methods of teaching, but they enjoy reading. This looks like an exciting way to teach history to my 2 fellas!

A fun and exciting way to learn about our history and keep a timeline, perfect for big families. I am a busy mom with two little boys, and this will allow my two older girls to continue with a self-paced program! I do follow more of a Charlotte Mason style of learning, so I will not do all the questions and test, but will use the literature reading to be teacher! I am choosing this more to help with review and long term memory of the history reading.

I'm hoping this will work as a history curriculum for my high-energy son who doesn't like traditional textbook/workbook curriculums.

Preachy and just not good writing
I am a Christian. I enjoy Christian resources but this one was just too much. I get it that God has his hand in all of history but this one was just too preachy. You can make a point without beating someone over the head with it. It just didn't feel reasonable.
