Category Description for Preschool Activity Series:

For the young preschooler, this set of four workbooks offers uncluttered, simple pages and activities that he/she can use to "do school" alongside their older siblings. They are just right for that occasional break from play and busylife, gently teaching matching, differentiating, coloring in 8 colors, cutting and counting to four. The pages are very plain and wholesome, not distracting, and focus on specific beginning skills. The series was developed for their ownchildren by an Amish family.

My 3 year old needs something to do while his brothers are working on their school work but something too colorful and bright might deter him from actually working on what he needs to do so I am excited to try this simple book set!

they are good for very young children to feel like they are part of the family doing school themselves too!

Great for littles during school time!
I used this to keep my 2 1/2 yr old who wants to "do school" busy during our homeschool day. We only did the first book this spring; we'll keep going on the rest next fall.

This is a beautiful set of books for our tiny ones and has been the very first school book for both of my children so far They're short and sweet they only last about 3 months in our house since our girls want to do 4-8 pages per sitting They gradually build on skills very gently They primarily focus on matching drawing intentional lines from one specified point to another following direction reviewing basic concepts like largest and smallest and a little number introduction which is perfect to prepare my little ones for 'pre-school' I can see huge improvements just in their ability to hold the pencil steady and get the lines to go where they want from the first book to the last and by the last book both of my girls have had their pencil grips pretty solid so long as I place the pencil in their hands These books don't achieve a great deal academically but that's not the point of them Their purpose is an introduction to the use of workbooks and basic skills like drawing lines and attibute recognition needed to help their first 'real school' go smoothly It means when we move to tracing and Pre-K math and such we can focus on the work instead of trying to do both Think of these as a 'My First Workbook' type of activity where the purpose of the activity is simply to use a workbook LOVE them
