This is a great effortless Music Appreciation supplemental class. We have weekly events that we attend which we designate the drive time as a music appreciation segment. Without any distractions, the CD's biographical stories intermixed with classical music captivates my children's attention. Makes a mindless ride culturally and educationally stimulating and enriching.

Some difficulty in car, but worth the volume adjustments!
Volume quality in the car is the only complaint I have-we have to adjust up and down when the speaker is talking to be heard by all listeners in all seats of the vehicle. However, these CDs had been on my wishlist for a LONG time with Rainbow, and I finally bit the bullet and purchased them-and am glad that I did! Perfect addition to an eclectic/classical education.

Great way to meet composers and their work
I used this set years ago with our now grown up daughters. I lent it to friends and never saw it again, not surprisingly! I knew from experience that reinvesting in these recordings would be a great way for our youngest to meet composers and their work. I am enjoying hearing them all again as well.

Perfect for composer study
We are enjoying our CDs. The story and music are perfect for composer study. My only wish is that the song breaks corresponded different sections. Stopping for mini-lessons without losing our place is tough. I would recommend these!

Fabulous!
These CD's are done very well. The narrator's voice is very pleasant and refined-sounding. It alternates between narration and music (and also music in the background during the narration). The CD's are engaging to listen to. Perfect for both children and adults. I really enjoy them and so do my 5 and 7 year old. One tip: This may be obvious for some, but it wasn't for me, so I thought I would share it here: the inside of the cover of each CD (you have to unfold it) lists the name of the pieces that they play throughout the CD.

As a child I spent hours listening to this set riveted to the beautifully narrated stories interwoven with the actual pieces of classical music Twenty years later I'll hear a piece of music and know who the composer was and remember details of his life thanks to the fascinating storiesIf you are looking for a way to make classical music real and alive to your children this is a perfect way to do so Highly recommended by a long time eager listener
