Little House on the Praire books are designed especially for early readers, these adaptations of the original Little House series feature simpler storylines and events from the books, formatted like a picture book. Each page contains a few lines of text for beginning readers, and the rest of the page is softly and beautifully illustrated based on the style of Garth Williams. All in all, they have done an excellent job in keeping the text of the story in keeping with the original books, so much I almost recognize some of the lines from the original Little House on the Praire series. For young children that "want to read it themselves" and enjoy looking at the pictures, this is a great easy reader alternative or introduction to Little House. - Jess

I'm buying them for a my granddaughter. I bought them for my daughter who is 18 about 12 years ago and she loved them!! I found them in a bookstore by or in Mt rushmore but not sure where. They are cheaper to get the whole set! So excited to give them to her for Christmas!! I'm shopping a little early this year!!

My Children and many students have enjoyed the rich literature of Laura Ingalls Wilder. This series for young readers is truly a wonderful and colorful way to introduce the Little House Chapter books.

I am working with a group of deaf/hard of hearing female students who range in age from 5-9 years old. They all use spoken language and are learning to read independently. I thought that this series would be an excellent way to introduce them to Laura and the Little House on the Prairie stories and also work on their independent reading skills. I am also hoping to find additional material to supplement the stories, such as crafts and recipes, to further enhance the children's interests.

GREAT TO SHARE WITH MY GRAND-DAUGHTERS
As a little house fan myself for over 60 years I was so happy to see these. My grand-daughters (age 3 &5) enjoy each and everyone. I started out with the birthday one for their birthdays, then the Christmas one. Now the entire series. I am so happy it gives us another thing to enjoy together. As they get older I will introduce them to the next series.
