I love this math curriculum! My daughter had used Saxon in 1st grade and we tried Singapore this year and I couldn't quite put my finger on it but I wasn't happy with either one Now I realize that we were jumping around too much -- one week it was multiplication the next week it was fractions and then measurement the next etc She was learning bits and pieces but not feeling any real sense of mastery She was probably learning (and covering all of the National Standards) but both of us felt like she was almost wasting time and not being challenged I tried Level 6 out as an experiment and I'm really impressed My daughter feels like she's really mastering addition and from the beginning of the book to the end you can see where she's come from She started out groaning and saying "This is way too easy Mom!" By the second unit however she looked up and said "This book is getting ferocious" Now she's looking at her work and saying "I couldn't have done this a month ago" Now that's motivating! I would strongly recommend this program especially if your child is motivated by progress and at all self-directed Now my only concern is that she may learn too much too fast! Of course that's a problem I'm willing to live with :)
