We've enjoyed reading some of these from the library and would like to have them around our home as fun & informational resources that we can refer to over the decades. Timeless, interesting, helpful.

We have one title from this collection and I wanted them all. These are great books for elementary kids (and adults with little art education, dare I say).

As a current art teacher, I remember reading these books when I was younger and really falling in love with them! While visiting another teacher's classroom, I noticed she had some in her room. I immediately searched online for the most books for my money.

To accompany our our curriculum and because my 10 year old is interested in becoming an artist. Short books to learn about great artists. Enough to keep her engaged.

Already purchased one of these books (Degas) from you. Excellent resource for music appreciation. Children enjoyed them.

This series is for our elementary school art program. The books in this series are exceptional. They are age appropriate and engage the students in learning about the masters.

Great set!
The books are easy enough for my 6 & 7 year old to read themselves (I'd go with around 3rd grade reading level), pictures by the artist are plentiful and the story line is easy to follow, yet gives enough detail. With these books, and the internet, it is easy to introduce my kids to the great artists, then have them paint a picture in the style of the artist.

I love the artist and the composer books by Mike Venezia I have used them to structure a simple "Intro to Fine Arts" for my 1st grader She loves reading them they're easy to do in one sitting and she remembers facts she gleams from them The artist series includes pictures of the real art work and I would play CDs by the composers when we read those I just wanted to expose her to the names and famous works and these books have surpassed my expectations for that I would recommend these to anyone who wants to introduce children to the arts at an early age
