I was wondering if these books need to be done in order or if you can choose which volume you'd like to begin with?

BEST ANSWER: On their website they recommend going in order to follow the storyline but it's not an absolute. We have never used Sassafras before but we are going to start with the one on natural disasters and weather. I think they recommend going in order so that your familiar with the characters and when something is referenced from a previous book you'll understand what they are referring to. The curriculum website has more information about this if you need more information.
