Hush! A Thai Lullaby
"Monkey, monkey, don't come swinging. Can't you see that baby's sleeping? Monkey, monkey, don't you cry. My baby's sleeping right nearby." One by one, this gentle lullaby asks the animals to be quiet and not disturb the sleeping baby. Each animal makes its own gentle sound before being silenced. For example, the lizard goes "tuk-ghaa", the mouse says "jeed-jeed", and the water buffalo says "maaau, maaau". Colorful collage-style illustrations depict the unique Thailand setting. By Minfong Ho.
