This is a combined volume of Sophocles' Oedipus trilogy, Oedipus Rex, Oedipus at Colonus, and Antigone. The trilogy centers first on Oedipus, the King of Thebes, and recount his downfall, his exile and death. Antigone, the final book in the series of tragedies focuses on the fate of Oedipus' children as they carry out his legacy. These epic plays have a modern translation by Dudley Fitts and Robert Fitzgerald. A brief commentary by the translators appears after Oedipus at Colonus and Antigone.
