BEST ANSWER: Totally new and a wonderful series. Not all the books have been written by the same person. The best ones were written by the original author..

6 Year Old Heaven
My child is six and LOVES this series. She received the collection of books 1-12 last year as a gift and she will get this collection of books 12-20 this year. She went through the first 12 so quickly that I can only imagine her excitement to get more. The Box Car Children books are good wholesome reading for any child!
