Set includes a quality 17-piece dissection tool set (Item #082483), a reusable dissecting pan, and the book How to Dissect, (#045220) that clearly illustrates and explains how to dissect everything except for the Grantia (sponge) specimen. Preserved specimens include: a fetal pig (4-7"), a frog (3"+), a perch (5-7"), a crayfish (3-4"), an earthworm (6-8"), a clam (3-4"), a starfish (3-5"), a grasshopper, and a Grantia (sponge). All specimens are plain without colored latex injection and come packaged together in one bag. Once the original package is opened, it is recommended that specimens be stored in a heavy-duty, zip-lock bag and used within one month. All the specimens are plain without colored latex injection. Specimens are packaged together in one bag.

Note: Specimens are initially preserved with a formaldehyde solution, the best animal tissue fixative. The formaldehyde is then displaced first with water and finally with a glycol solution to produce a moist, low-fume specimen which will not decay over time.
