Description
Publisher's Description of Rhymoceros (A Grammar Zoo Book)
In Janik Coat's much-anticipated follow-up to Hippopposites, a blue rhinoceros unabashedly demonstrates 16 pairs of rhyming words. His ability to appear "stinky" and "inky," or "caring" and "daring," oftentimes lands him in compromising contexts. Fortunately, he doesn't seem to mind. Surprising novelty features such as gold foil stamping and flocking enhance this unique, gifty, high-designconcept board book.

Category Description for Grammar Zoo Books

Grammar for kindergarteners? Seriously? Ok, these books are a HOOT! In the first place, they are big board books. Really big at 8" x 8.5" with punchy, vibrant graphics. In the Comparrotives book, you see all these parrots! Get it? So clever. Open up a page and on the left you see a messy parrot and on the right, a messier parrot. Or an angry and an angrier parrot, or a close and a closer parrot. It is just hilarious, and kids will love it! A couple pages have a texture to interact with. They are conversationally learning adjectives, aka grammar. Rhyming is such a good pre-reading skill to practice. In the Rhymoceros book, you see the bold, bright images as well; only now we see rhymes such as shade/lemonade, chilly/frilly, grumpy/bumpy, etc. all starring the same big blue rhino. Again, with a couple of textured pages. The volumes are a little pricey, but they feel almost like an art book to me, with really nice quality and graphics. They provide a unique and clever way to introduce some simple grammar to the littlest future readers! ~Sara
