Description

This wooden puzzle is for babies/toddlers as young as 18 mos. I am well past that age and could not stop playing with it! At first it looks like a simple place the block on the peg activity. However, there are wee branches sticking out of the peg and the blocks have slots for these branches. The result is that you must turn the block to go down the peg. Same for lifting the block off the peg – it has to turn and pass through the branches a certain way. This challenges manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. It teaches shapes and colors too! The lovely wood has an heirloom feel. Perfect for use in a pre-school or daycare center. There are 4 pegs and 12 blocks that average 2" x 2". Each peg has a different number (2-6) and branch configuration, so there is a lot of discernment to be had. Also, the pegs are connected to the base with elastic that lets them bend, so they are more durable than a fixed peg. This has a very Montessori or Waldorf feel. Super cute too! ~Sara
