* fiction with nonfiction
* fiction with fiction
* nonfiction with nonfiction
When students finish reading a pair of passages, they will rely on the text to complete the accompanying questions and activities.
Students are given the opportunity to compare and contrast several reading passages in a variety of genres and subjects, such as science and social studies. They will do fiction/ non-fiction comparisons, fiction/fiction and non-fiction/non-fiction. Attention to detail is the focus here. After reading a passage, students answer a few questions before making their comparisons. An assessment rubric and answers in each book can be used by the student for self-checking or the teacher for grading. Perforated pages are reproducible for a single classroom/family. Meets current state standards. These would make for a good morning basket item or warm-up activity for your daily language arts. 93pp. ~Sara
