Classical
A methodology based on the Latin Trivium (three stages of learning), including the grammar stage (memorization and facts), logic stage (critical thinking), and rhetoric stage (developing/defending ideas).
Unit Study
A thematic or topical approach centered around one topic that integrates multiple subject areas.
Montessori (Discovery)
A methodology based on the work of a 20th century educator that emphasizes student and sensory-driven discovery learning and real-life applications.

Description

This kit will equip builders to create innovative, exciting, and educational projects that involve the skills of electricity and drawing. Included is an instructional guide which shows how to make operable circuits and correctly connect the power line between circuits. Circuits are created by using a conductive ink pen to connect electronic pieces together and to a power source. Once the user has the main idea down, they can use the circuit pen and electronic pieces to freestyle their own creations. This kit includes the Circuit Scribe Super Kit (069549) plus an Add-On Kit of additional pieces to extend the creation possibilities.

The add-on pieces include 1 motor and foam wheel, 2 extra switches, 2 extra red-blue LED's, 1 DIY connector, 1 double switch, and 10 connector cables.

The Super Plus Kit contents include a 9V battery adapter with 9V battery, 2 red-blue LED's, switch, transistor, dial, dimmer, blinker, buzzer, multi-colored LED, light sensor, conductive ink pen, circuit stencil, jumper sticker sheet, workbook, and steel sheet.

The spiral-bound Workbook has 25 instructional pages with learning exercises, as well as 24 sheets of blank paper for personal creations and circuit doodles. When using the circuit pen and electronics, place the included sheet of steel under the paper. Additional Conductive Ink Pens (048783) can be purchased individually. ~ Brianna

Category Description for Circuit Scribe

Learn about electronics with a pen and sheet of paper? It sounds a bit like science fiction, but this unique take on circuits does just that! The core of Circuit Scribe is a non-toxic silver ink pen. Draw an "ink circuit" on a piece of paper, then snap the magnetic electronic modules (sensors, switches, transistors, and more) onto the drawing with the included magnetic sheet. Once a connection is completed & powered by the included battery, the electronics come to life. Each kit comes with a student workbook that introduces the concept, teaches the basics of electronics, and provides exercises to complete. Exercises include making touch sensors, series switches, and even creating a circuit from your signature! The unique presentation and concept is quite intuitive for youngsters just learning electronics. Replacing circuit blocks with conductive ink also de-clutters the learning area, helping students focus on specific modules & concepts.
