Mini-Orchard Game in Tin
Just like the extremely popular Orchard Game, but much smaller. This sweet version is small enough to fit in a purse or small backpack. Perfect game for the whole family while you wait at a restaurant, or just when you want to have some fun! Game idea: Red cherries, yellow pears, blue plums and green apples hang from the trees in the orchard. The bold raven wants the delicious fruit too. The players must harvest the fruit quickly before the raven can grab it. This is a simple beginning game for children. Each player rolls the die to see which fruit they may harvest with the baskets. Watch out! If the raven is rolled, one more piece of the raven puzzle is built in the center! A great family cooperative game as everyone works together to collect the fruit before the raven puzzle is complete!
Our family has long enjoyed playing co-operative games from Family Pastimes. We play competitive ones, too, but enjoy fostering team spirit as we all work toward achieving a goal. If you haven't tried this alternative to playing together, here's an assortment of some of our favorites from this company.
Quick! Work together and harvest all the fruit from the trees before the hungry raven arrives and eats it all! This adorable cooperative game features a bright game board with a different fruit tree pictured on each corner. The center of the game board shows a picture of that pesky raven stealing the fruit. To start, place the 40 colorful, wooden fruit pieces on the trees. Each player has a little basket for harvesting the fruit they collect. Players take turn rolling the die, and picking a fruit of the corresponding color. But watch out! If you roll a raven, you must put one of the 9 crow tiles on the crow picture on the board. If the raven is assembled before all the fruit is harvested, everybody loses! 1-8 players, game play is 10-15 minutes. ~ Megan
