Science 8 Lifepac - Unit 1 Worktext
Do you want to teach your middle school student about how science relates to society? Would you like your child to learn from an easy-to-follow, Christian science curriculum? Alpha Omega Publications has the perfect homeschool curriculum for you—the LIFEPAC General Science II Unit 1 Worktext! This vibrant, consumable Alpha Omega curriculum uses easy-to understand lessons to teach your child middle school science. This first in a series of ten eighth grade science worktexts will give your student lessons in the definition of science, the history of science, science today, and science tomorrow.
Your student will master concepts step-by-step using experiments, exercises, colorful illustrations, and activities to reinforce and solidify learning. Unlike a regular textbook—which can overwhelm a student with its length—your student will finish each worktext in just three to four weeks. Your child's sense of achievement will motivate him to continue through the rest of the year! What's more, the easy-to-follow lessons enable your student to work independently and build a sense of self-discipline. The worktext includes reviews, several self tests, and one removable teacher-administered test.
Items listed in this section tend to be complete science programs with a teacher and student component, requiring few supplements besides science supplies.
LIFEPAC worktexts provide a complete, year-long science curriculum for each grade. From a Christian publisher, the approach is systematic mastery learning. It's very easy to teach from, with no need to write out lesson plans or prepare materials. You will have to gather equipment and materials for science experiments, however. Each grade contains 10 small consumable worktexts which the students progress through at their own pace. Each unit includes vocabulary, text, and comprehension questions to assure students retain the material. The science series is more activity-oriented than AOP's other subject LIFEPACs, with plenty of experiments to help illustrate science concepts. Grades 1-10 worktexts contain colorful illustrations; grades 11-12 are only available in black and white. Complete Boxed Sets also include a Teacher's Guide with teaching tips and answer keys. Sets of LIFEPACS only (no Teacher's Guides) are also available at each level for additional students.

Alpha Omega is in the process of updating the covers on the LIFEPACs. It is only a cosmetic change; the LIFEPAC content has not been modified. While they are transitioning to the new covers, please be aware that you may receive a mix of LIFEPACS with old and new covers in a set.
