The covers feel like fine leather, though they are only a coated cardboard. Even the soft covers feel rich in your hands. While they are pricier than a spiral notepad, how many spiral notepads get kept on a bookshelf as a keepsake? Use them as a daily journal, a travel memoir, record family history, or have students record their thoughts. What a fun thing to look back on some day! Writers get better when they write every day. The pages are acid-free and come with either ruled pages, grid (looks like graph paper) or dotted pages (like the game where you make boxes and put your initial inside.) The lines/dots are a soft gray on the elegant ivory. A place marking ribbon is firmly attached and matching elastic keeps the cover closed while in your pocket or bag.
