What's cooler than building a robot that can scale vertical surfaces? Although a little slower than superheroes with wall-scaling ability, the Air-Walker is fascinating to build and watch. The kit includes parts and instructions to build five different models that can each climb smooth vertical surfaces like windows, dry-erase boards or laminate surfaces. Each model works with a system of air pumps and suction cups to both cling to the surface and move up, left or right. A 24-page instruction book features an illustrated comic story about Nexo the Air-Walker, along with illustrated, step-by-step instructions to build him and the other four models. Your Air-Walker can crawl in a straight line, to the left, or to the right, while a special mechanism makes the robots head move back and forth as its body moves forward. You can also build four other models with the same components and learn how suction and mechanical devices can be used in different real-world applications. A vacuum-suction machine sticks to and lifts flat panels, while a robot with just two suction cups rotates around a central pivot point.
