Category Description for Stickmen's Guides

These are graphically and topically interesting non-fiction readers. The text is in caption-sized bits with loads of facts. There is a wide variety of topics to choose from. I feel like students would pick these up and just read them again and again! While the images are illustrated in a cartoonish style and not actual photographs, they are helpful and go with the text. You might make a point to look up actual photos in a book or online after reading these volumes. The content reflects what is taught in classrooms regarding global warming and other hot topics. The stickman is just a way for the reader to insert themselves in the book, and some may think it's rather clever. The reading level is 008-012 Guided Reading: X (about grade level 3-4). Each book is approximately 32 pgs, pb. ~Sara
