Butterflies and Beyond
Using the illustration of a butterfly's metamorphosis, this book illuminates for children the transition of a Christian when passing from this life into the next. Beginning with a young boy, Andrew, who loves to visit his grandmother, the story begins with Andrew sharing with his "Grammie" the very special surprise he has to share-caterpillars. As Andrew shares the caterpillar's transition into chrysalis, Grammie recognizes the life lesson to be taught and shares with Andrew the metamorphosis that is occurring and the amazingly similar plan He has for His people. She shares how it is very sad when a person dies, but God has an amazing design for peoplea new, glorified body and the opportunity to live with Him forever. Shortly after her conversation with her grandson, Grammie has a very dear friend who goes to be with God. As she finds comfort in his 'metamorphosis', Grammie is able to communicate God's amazing plan for His people when they leave this life for their new home with Him.
Colorfully illustrated, this book tenderly and sensitively explains life after death to children in a way that offers peace and comfort, as they realize, the end is truly the beginning. Additional activities include a simple flip book and maze. 32pgs, pb. ~ Deanne
