Category Description for Highlights Handwriting Practice

These colorful handwriting books have a seam at the top, but once open, they lie flat in a landscape format. Both left and right handed students can write comfortably. The PK book works on simple tracing of lines and curves, followed by all capitals, then lower case letters, all in print. Directional arrows make for easy practice. The Kinder book starts with upper and lower case print on a page with a sentence with dotted half-lines (.75"). Mazes and puzzles keep the writer interested, as well as writing names and words with each letter. The grade 1 book is using a 5/8" dotted half-line for practice. This level is working on first tracing, then copying full sentences in print. The Cursive Practice book uses .5" dotted half-lines and asks the student to read a word in cursive, then print it. It shows capital and lower case cursive letters, then blends of letters to both trace and copy. They will again practice short sentences and names. The pages are colorful, and a page or 2 a day will make for a rather painless daily handwriting exercise. Pb, 80pp each, all maze/puzzle answers are in the back. ~Sara
