For the student who is a very pictorial thinker, a visual dictionary can be a better option than a traditional bilingual dictionary. The images just stick better for some learners. This one uses color photographs, not cartoon illustrations, and is logically organized by topics such as: people, home, body, food, city, numbers, sports, etc. You don't have to have a half Spanish/half English format because the photos simply show both languages, so this is not a great big book. There is both an English and Spanish (or French) index in the back. One thing worth noting, there is no pronunciation help. This book is best used with a student who is familiar with the second language pronunciation rules, rather than a complete novice. 5.5x6.5" (.75" thick) 400pp, pb, ~ Sara
